Respond on the record

Candidates may answer published questions, correct biographical information, provide position papers, or identify primary records that should be added to a candidate file.

How candidate outreach is handled

01

Same core questions

Candidates seeking the same office receive the same core subject questions. Follow-up questions can address a candidate's own statements or record.

02

Attributable responses

Responses are attributed to the candidate or campaign and dated. Source documents can be linked or added to the source register.

03

Corrections stay visible

Factual corrections are reviewed against supporting material and recorded through the site's corrections process.

Sending records

For documents, include the document title, issuing body, date, and a public source link when one exists. Do not send passwords, private account credentials, or material you are not authorized to disclose.
